This is the blog of the MetaCPAN Logo contest. All submissions will be posted here. For more information on the contest and on how to participate, check out the Contest Page.
Our third submission in this contest just came in. It was created by Berry Arthur and looks like this:
It works pretty well in a small format as well:
Barry also provided an example of how one could include it into a larger banner:
The logo looks more like an eye and a pacman to me than a "C"; I can't make a connection to MetaCPAN.
I like the feel of the eye, not sure about the 'c' and then how it fits within the full 'metacpan', but it's an interesting start
I didn't think of making it look like a C at all while I was desiging it - it was always and only intended to be an eye. I was thinking of it as being symbolic of searching. The idea came to me when The Eye of Sauran popped into mind - hence the Eye of CPAN. Making it the C of the banner example was a very last minute composition as I was putting it together for submission. It doesn't have to be used that way at all, but it *is* an eye. :-)
This is by far my favorite one. If only it looked more like the Eye of Horus
